ZESTAT (MIRTAZAPINE), generic Remeron, is a prescription medicine used to treat of treatment of Major Depressive Disorder in adults. Because of its sedative and appetite-stimulating effects, it is sometimes used off-label in patients with depression who experience insomnia, poor appetite, or weight loss. MIRTAZAPINE has to take usually started at 15 mg once daily at night, and may be increased to 30–45 mg per day depending on response, under doctor’s advice.
