Dotfix (Dotinurad), generic Urece is a prescription medicine used to treat gout and Hyperuricemia. Dotinurad targets URAT1, a transporter involved in uric acid reabsorption. Dotinurad specifically blocks URAT1, leading to increased elimination of uric acid in the urine and a reduction in its levels in the blood. Additionally, Dotinurad has a minimal effect on other transporters like ABCG2, OAT1, and OAT3, which means it can lower blood uric acid effectively without disrupting the secretion of uric acid through these pathways. Therefore, Dotinurad is known as a selective urate reabsorption inhibitor (SURI), focusing on the URAT1-mediated reabsorption route while sparing the secretion routes managed by ABCG2, OAT1, and OAT3, thanks to its high selectivity for URAT1. Dotinurad have to take orally once a day for hyperuricemia irrespective of gout status treatment.
Side Effects :
The most common adverse reactions of Dotinurad are:
