Indication & Dosage :
NETOCTA LAR (Octreotide), generic is a prescription medicine used to treat controlling severe watery diarrhea or flushing in patients with certain types of tumors such as carcinoid, pancreatic islet cell tumors, gastrinoma, or vasoactive intestinal peptide secreting tumors. Octreotide is also used to treat a certain condition (acromegaly), when the body produces too much growth hormone and the hands, feet, face or head grow too large. NETOCTA LAR is manufactured by Sun Pharma Ltd. in India.
Octreotide has to inject under the skin, usually 2 to 3 times a day.
Side Effects :
The most common adverse reactions of Octreotide are:
Nausea, vomiting, loose/ oily stools, constipation, stomach upset, gas, bloating, dizziness, or headache.
