Indication & Dosage :
Avastin (Bevacizumab), is a prescription medicine used to treat colorectal cancer for first- or second-line treatment in combination with intravenous fluorouracil–based chemotherapy. Bevacizumab is also used to treat advanced non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), advanced cervical cancer (CC), ovarian cancer (OC), breast cancer, kidney cancer, colon or rectal cancer along with other cancer medicines. Avastin is manufactured by Roche Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in India. Bevacizumab has to inject first dose into a vein is usually given over 90 minutes by a health care professional. If patient tolerate the first dose well then later infusions may be given over a shorter time (60 or 30 minutes).
Side Effects :
The most common side effects of Bevacizumab are:
High blood pressure, too much protein in the urine, nosebleeds, rectal bleeding, back pain, headache, taste change, dry skin, inflammation of the skin, inflammation of the nose, watery eyes.
